Who this course is for

Who this course is for
This course, funded by UK government, is for Hampshire residents aged 19+ who would like to be better equipped to support their child’s learning.
Prosp Aims
This is an online course using Microsoft Teams. Participants will be required to use Microsoft Teams.

To help everyone get the most out of the Stepping into School course, please note that it focuses on general strategies for supporting children’s school readiness, rather than personalised guidance around complex family circumstances, specialist SEND processes, or individual mental health needs. If you feel you may need more tailored support, we can help signpost you to the right services. We may also contact you before the course to ensure it’s a good fit for your needs.

The aim of this course is to equip parents and carers with the knowledge, strategies, and practical tools needed to confidently support their child’s transition into school. Through a combination of discussion, modelling, and hands on activities, the course will help families understand key expectations of school life, strengthen home–school partnerships, and enhance children’s readiness for learning, independence, and wellbeing.
