Who this course is for
This course is for eligible adults aged 19+ who wish to gain/regain knowledge of English skills and move towards completing a Functional Skills course.

Open Course Objectives

As well as being more prepared to take an accredited Functional Skills English qualification, learners will be able to:

- Identify basic English Terminology: Noun, adjective, adverb, verb, pronoun.
- Comprehend a text by Skimming and Scanning and locating at least one piece of information.
- Use spelling strategies to improve spelling and vocabulary.
- Complete a piece of writing using paragraphs.

To qualify for this free government funded course, you must be a Hampshire resident age 19+ who meets our eligibility / UK residency criteria. Please contact our team for more details.

Open What this Course can lead to

On successful completion you will be sent a Hampshire Achieves Course Completion Certificate. You will also be offered an opportunity to progress onto one of our accredited Functional Skills courses if you do not already have a Level 2. Hampshire Achieves also offers a wide range of employability, wellbeing, and ESOL (English as a Second or Other Language) courses.
