Who this course is for
This course is for eligible adults living in Hampshire aged 19+ who would like support and help with looking for work in the UK. It aims to improve your communication skills and your confidence to carry out a successful interview and write a CV. This course is suitable where English is your second or other language (ESOL) at Entry 3 (pre-intermediate to advanced level).

Open Course Objectives

The course will consist of:
• Six x 2-hour tutor led group sessions
• Self-directed tasks to carry out in your own time
• A personal tutor for support and guidance

This course will enable you to:
• Write about your knowledge, skills and past work experience
• Identify the skills that you have that would be most relevant for your preferred job role
• Identify a vacancy on the internet and list the role requirements
• Answer three simple interview questions using the STAR method

To qualify for this free government funded course, you must be a Hampshire resident age 19+ who meets our eligibility / UK residency criteria. Please contact our team for more details.

On successful completion you will also be sent a ‘Hampshire Achieves Course Completion Certificate’. Your tutor will also discuss further progression opportunities, including employment, volunteering, or further learning. You may be interested in our other ESOL courses (e.g. Life in the UK), some of our sector-based employability courses (e.g. Working in Childcare & Schools'), or gaining a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in either Maths or English if you do not already have one.
